The “Soft Skills for Jobs Through Sports Project” is an innovative initiative designed to bridge the gap between vocational training and employment for 100 students across 15 vocational institutions in Uganda. In the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic, many young people—particularly those with disabilities—have faced increased barriers to entering the workforce. This project utilizes sports and physical exercise as a dynamic teaching tool to instill essential interpersonal qualities such as teamwork, leadership, resilience, and effective communication. By integrating these "soft skills" into the traditional technical curriculum, the project empowers vulnerable students to navigate the job market with confidence, increasing their opportunities for formal employment and sustainable self-employment.
Activity: Advance youth employability and social inclusion by integrating life-skills training through sports, helping marginalized students overcome pandemic-related economic impacts and foster professional readiness.
