DR Congo: Insitut Supieur en Sciences Infirmieres (ISSI)
Local Partner: Insitut Supieur en Sciences Infirmieres (ISSI)
Recipients: 20 to 30 nursing students per school year
Harambee’s contribution: $10,000
Since 2018, Harambee USA has maintained a vital partnership with ISSI, the nursing school of Monkole Hospital, to address the critical shortage of qualified healthcare professionals in the DR Congo. This tuition assistance program removes the financial barriers that often prevent talented students from completing their medical education in a region where healthcare needs are immense. By defraying the costs of specialized training, the project ensures a steady pipeline of skilled nurses who are trained to international standards. These graduates return to their communities as role models and health leaders, elevating the standard of nursing practice and improving patient outcomes across the country.
Activity: Strengthen the Congolese healthcare system by providing sustainable financial aid for nursing education, empowering a new generation of medical leaders to provide high-quality care and community health advocacy.
